Der Herr der Ringe

Regisseur Guillermo del Toro steht nach den Problemen der letzten Wochen nicht mehr als Regisseur für den Hobbit zur Verfügung. Grund hierfür ist vorallem die Verzögerung bei der Realisiserung des Projekts, da dies zu Terminkollisionen mit anderen Projekten führen würde.

In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming “The Hobbit,” I am faced with the hardest decision of my life. After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien’s Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures. I remain grateful to Peter, Fran and Philippa Boyens, New Line and Warner Brothers and to all my crew in New Zealand. I’ve been privileged to work in one of the greatest countries on earth with some of the best people ever in our craft and my life will be forever changed. The blessings have been plenty, but the mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally allocated for the project. Both as a co-writer and as a director, I wish the production nothing but the very best of luck and I will be first in line to see the finished product. I remain an ally to it and its makers, present and future, and fully support a smooth transition to a new director

Wie man auf einigen Bildern auf theonering.net sehen kann, wird momentan gerade Hobbingen umgebaut für den Film The Hobbit. Es wird zahlreiche neue Hobbit Höhlen geben und neue Hecken und Obstbäume werden gepflanzt.

Kürzlich kam die Nachricht rein, dass unter anderem Hugo Weaving in der Verfilmung vom kleinen Hobbit mitspielen werde. Das zumindest hatte Regisseuer Guillermo del Toro gesagt. Dumm nur das Weaving davon nicht weiss.

“I knew that if and when it happened I’d get a call and we’d chat about it, but I haven’t spoken to anyone about it. Someone said to me ‘I hear you’re doing the Hobbit?’ I said ‘Well, um, probably’, they said “No, no. you’ve signed on’. I haven’t actually talked to anyone about it. Doesn’t mean I won’t be doing it, [I'm] just not onboard yet.”

Interesse besteht also, und wenn er gefragt wird, wird er wohl auch wieder mitmachen.
